Oh, Prom. Nothing more fun than getting dressed up with your best girlfriends for the last big blowout dance before graduation. Lucky me, since I have the most beautiful senior clients in the city, I got the pleasure of seeing 3 of my senior portrait clients for some quick pre-dance pictures of all these beauties. Two thoughts-1. High School girls over the age of 16 are FAR more sophisticated and gorgeous than any girls in my high school class 20 years ago. 2. Wow, see item 1.

When you hire me for senior pictures, it’s not a one and done. I really enjoy doing events like these for my clients, I love being able to capture these memories for parents to share. It’s all a part of the experience at my studio.

Now, stand up straight and say cheese!

Doing some light pattern testing with my gridded beauty dish. ( Your beauty what????)

It’s a circular light modifier that is popular with editorial and fashion photographers. It gives really pretty but directed light on a single subject, and now that my own daughter is a little older she’s more than happy to be a light tester for me.

Spring is finally here, and I’m getting a well deserved breather! Typically it’s slower February and March, and I take care of boring things like taxes and updating my blog & website. Not this year!! I had back to back large commercial jobs that should be printing very soon…..a one day shoot for a potential new TV show, and my local civic association has been keeping me hopping with community events. Crazy, but good crazy.

Luckily, I got to see this family in my studio to refresh some of my own website and blog material. I love this family. Really, really, really love them. The kids are wild, spunky, and filled with personality. It’s never boring and I normally am trying to not cry because I’m laughing so hard at them. Enjoy!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This morning I had the honor of joining WCOL’s Woody & the Wake-Up Call morning program ( with the ever so famous Woody, Zuco and Grandma Zuco) at the Waffle House in Groveport. They do a wedding every Valentine’s Day, and this year I was lucky enough to be photographing this special event. Oh, and it was at 6 am and it was snowing, but no matter. Love knows no bounds! I had an amazing time meeting the couples Cindy & Donnie and Sheena and Willie. They celebrated with Reverand Waffle, the staff at Waffle House, the listeners and thier families. It was a really special event, and I am so glad I was able to capture this time for them. Just a few for now, a much larger post later in the week!

This is Kristen and her childhood horse Freckles. We had a lot of fun visiting Freckles at his new home and visiting with the horses at Kar-Lan Farms. I think it goes without saying that today was gorgeous for February, Kristen is gorgeous ( lucky me) and Freckles is all around awesome for being in his mid 20′s ( 27!!!).

I had the pleasure of photographing R on a much warmer September night. He’s got so much going on between sports and academics and college. It’s a lot to juggle, but he is the most chill person ever. He just does his thing, and it all works out. I should also mention he’s got some serious model good looks. So, my job was really easy. Show up, hang out, take some shots. Lucky me.

Ah, there is nothing more fun that a couple of crazy little boys who are in a silly mood. We had lots of giggles and belly laughs, especially when Miss S., who was my esteemed stylist for the day was behind me being so silly. Both F & J were joys to photograph. Mom & Dad were wonderful and totally laid back, and this was a really fun mini session. Enjoy!!

I have many, many things to be thankful for this year. I was able to work on a network TV show that features my family photography ( Extreme Home Makeover!!), I’ve been working with BalletMet to do some fundraising work and had the pleasure of working with many of talented dancers. I’ve also been thankful to be a mom this year. Meet my only teenager. The big 1-3 tomorrow…..it’s a little sad for me, it seems like yesterday she was barely crawling and drinking bottles and now we are 3 years away from driving and very close to high school. I’m a pretty lucky lady…she’s a terrific kid, even if I don’t tell her enough.
